PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT
TO APPLY FOR GRANT FUNDS
The City of Sherwood will submit a grant application to the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission and FEMA to develop mitigation strategies and obtain data to prioritize, select, and develop a community flood hazard project for future funding and/or construction under “Advanced Assistance”. Work will include topographic survey, hydrologic and hydraulic study, environmental documentation and permit applications, geotechnical investigation, roadway design and utility relocation design and preparation of right of way and easement acquisition documentation. The proposed activities will find a proposed solution using sound engineering practices and data for flooding that occurs on Jacksonville-Cato Road in Sherwood, which prevents access to and from the 79 homes in the Creekdale Subdivision, creates a 7.27 mile detour for 5,400 cars per day including residents of 848 homes and two schools, and requires an average of 2.25 swift water rescues per year by emergency response personnel on October 13, 2017.
The Application may be viewed at the Central Arkansas Planning and Development office at the address below. Written comments may be sent to: Amanda Adaire, CAPDD, P. O. Box 300, 902 N.
