City Parks, Pools and Trails

Sherwood is home to several neighborhood parks and four pools that provide a broad range of recreational activities for our residents. Each of our parks offers a unique recreational opportunity from fishing, swimming, biking, walking trails, baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, playgrounds for the children and outdoor picnicking facilities. We hope that you will take advantage of the many public parks and pools available for Sherwood's residents.

The Sherwood Dog Park

The Sherwood Dog Park opened in March 2012 and has approximately 11,000 square feet of fenced area for your pooch! There are two separate sections available — one for smaller dogs less than 25 pounds, and another section for larger dogs. The area is partly shaded, and is open from sunrise to sunset. Additionally, a playground is close by for the kids too.

Sherwood Walking Trails

The City of Sherwood has more than a mile of beautiful, easy trails just waiting to be explored!

The trail at Henson Park with all sections included is roughly a mile. Anchoring that mile is Pickthorne Park with basketball, pavilions and playgrounds.

Austin Lake Park also has a trail that is approximately 1,300 feet, and is an easy walk. Another good walking trail is at Storer Park. This trail is also roughly 1,300 feet, and again, is an easy walk. One of the most visible trails is the Pedestrian Bridge Trail that runs approximately 1,600 feet.
