Jacksonville CATO Road
The City of Sherwood is currently in the process of designing roadway improvements to Jacksonville-Cato Road from Lybrand Road to Arkansas Highway 107. The current design includes two single traffic lanes including bike lanes divided by a grass covered median, sidewalks and a 14’ multi-use path. The current design also includes four round-abouts.
Management Access Plan
The City Council will be discussing and voting on an Ordinance adopting a Management Access Plan at the upcoming City Council meeting 6:00 pm Monday, February 27, 2023.
The primary purpose for an Management Access Plan is to protect the capacity of the roadway to handle the current and future anticipated traffic volume. The Plan is a Specific Access Management Plan in which all median breaks are specifically identified.
With the current plans for phase 1 and 2 includes four round-abouts with median cuts approxitely
Phase 1 - Lybrand Road to the “S” curve
Property and easement acquisition for phase 1 is in progress. North Little Rock Electric has started relocating their infrastructure to the new right of way boundary. Central Arkansas Water (CAW) has contracted with Diamond construction to relocate the water main.
Phase 2 – “S” curve to AR Highway 107
Plans are in development.
