[ARCHIVED] SHERWOOD SEEKING VOLUNTEERS, VENDORS FOR FESTIVAL

Civic organizations, businesses, churches and individuals that would like to get involved in the city’s largest citywide event as a vendor or volunteer are welcome to contact event coordinator Misty Brown at 501-833-0476 or Email Misty for more information. The event is funded by the Sherwood Advertising & Promotion Commission.

“Our volunteers are essential for Sherwood Fest. They help the event run smoothly and efficiently. There are many ways to get involved, from running contests and managing bounce houses to setting up for the event or keeping the festival grounds tidy. We welcome any family-friendly business or individual to get involved in this fun-filled community event as either a vendor, a volunteer or both,” said Brown.

An online application is available at THIS LINK for concessions, vendors and kids zone booths. Concession vendors must provide proof of liability insurance, a photo of their food truck/stand and an Arkansas Health Department license with their application to be approved. The pricing for concession vendors who apply now through July 31 is $100. This price will increase to $125 during the month of August and increase again to $150 from Sept. 1-15. Regular vendor prices are $50 now through July 31, $75 Aug. 1-31 and $100 Sept. 1-15.

Kids zone booths are available at no cost, but each booth must provide a free activity appropriate for children. Booths in the kids zone are welcome to pass out business information and collect sales leads, but they may not sell anything or collect donations in this area. Duran Youth Center Coordinator Julie Tharp will be organizing an “Exploration Station” in the kids zone area as well, which will include a magician, balloon animals and other free entertainment.

For all vendor types, electricity will cost $10 extra for a 110-volt outlet or $25 for a 220-volt outlet. All applications are subject to the event committee’s approval. Every booth space will include a 10’x10’ space, a table and two chairs. All vendors and activities will be outdoors, and the event is rain or shine. The deadline for all booth applications is noon on Sept. 15 and all payments must be made by Friday, Sept. 22.

Sponsorships at varying levels and benefits are also available. For more information on sponsorships, visit THIS LINK.

While the details of the event are still in the planning stages, the committee is working toward bringing festival rides, contests and entertainment that will keep families busy for the entire festival.

“We have some captivating entertainment in the works that includes a little bit of magic and circus acts as well as local musicians and dance groups. Keeping it affordable for families, ride armbands will available for $5, which will give unlimited access to all festival rides. Our popular archery contest will also make its return. This will be an exciting day for the entire family. You won’t want to miss it,” said Brown.
